La Marzocco celebrated its 90th anniversary by hosting their grand opening in Malaysia, with the partnership with Classic Coffee and Beverage Sdn Bhd. The grand opening was a success, with great support from the local community who always used La Marzocco from the very beginning and their passion towards coffee making is what makes La Marzocco to strive for the best!
Coffee enthusiasts or barista, may visit the small space provided by the company, to gain better understanding about the coffee machine equipment that are being showcased in the gallery. From home-use (Linea Mini) to aesthetic yet contemporary espresso machine (Pro Mod).

The grand opening of La Marzocco Malaysia also featured local coffee roasters such as The Roast Things, Coffee Concepts and Sprezzatura Coffee.

However, during the Grand Opening of La Marzocco Malaysia, they revealed that Leva will take approximately 1 or 3 months time, to arrive in the Malaysia market.

The presence of The Parque Cafe causes the aroma of fresh brewed coffee to be spread across the whole sanctuary which captivates outsider like me, wanting to visit the cafe eagerly. Parque Cafe is brewed and operated by an enthusiastic team called Coffee Concepts, which are based in Johor. Speaking of management, Coffee Concepts also manages Palladium Cafe in Eco Spring Show Village, Johor - the first cafe that marked their first inspired glasshouse cafe concept in Malaysia. The glasshouse cafe received so much love from the public that it has led to further expansion of business today.
Glasshouse?
Inspired by the recent top-chart music video composed by Jay Chou (Taiwanese artist). The beautiful and elegant looking glasshouse design is one-of-a-kind, as it does not required any complicated blueprints, just plain concretes, high-graded wood and some glass panels as finishing touch. However due to its design, it has limited room for seatings and the temperature inside the glasshouse can be fairly warm when the sun is at its peak. Best time to visit Parque - either before noon or late evening, for a better cafe hopping experience :)
"A pride that represents Parque, the glasshouse cafe design."

When you see an unusually small cafe that has more than one coffee grinding machine, it means a game-on! Parque Cafe is one of them, taking coffee very seriously. I mean, like... seriously.
A cafe having two or more coffee grinding machines are able to cater different types of coffee blend to attract more customers, which is an essential to the current context of all cafe today - because nobody wants a cafe that only serves one type of coffee blend, its dull.
Parque prepared a grinder filled with single origin (Ethiopia Konga) suitable for black coffee, while the other grinder is filled with their very own house blend (blend of Brazil Sidamo, Indonesia Toraja & Indonesia Flores) that is more palatable for the white coffee.
The Parque Cafe claimed that they will change into new blend after a period of time - so do watch out for their new blend in the future.

Capturing the barista moments...
"Surreal captures of barista's daily"

-> Long Black
Knowing that they have two types of coffee blend, I opt for a cup of long black by using their single origin (Ethiopia Konga) to start-up my day. A fairly "clean" cup that has noticeable brightness in it and loaded with fruity notes.

-> Cappuccino
As for the white coffee like cappuccino, the experts recommended me to enjoy a cup of white coffee by using their house blend that have mix-part of Brazil Sidamo, Indonesia Toraja & Indonesia Flores. A blend that certainly provides a perfect cup of balance, in terms of its boldness and brightness. Has a pinch of sweet chocolate, floral and woody.

->Lemon Cheese Cake
To spice up my cafe hopping experience a little, I got myself a slice of lemon cheese cake to go along with my coffee. The texture of this lemon cheese cake was perfect, as it reminded me of having delicious cheese cake in Artisan Roast Cafe back in the old days... The crust sprinkled with dash of sugar balances the acidity of the lemon cheese, Great!

Having said all of the above, I spent a great time alone in The Parque Cafe admiring the sight of walk-ins interacting with the passionate baristas, listening to calm music stream through the air and enjoy reading some random write-up over the net. A great place to be at...

Malaysia's largest coffee and art festival is back on 11-13 of September 2015 @ Publika Mall. Celebrating coffee and art together as one!

CAFFA is a celebration of the wonders and benefits of coffee and art. It will be an opportunity for those in the coffee community to mingle and network with each other – owners of coffee shops; experts of the coffee industry; baristas and budding artists from across Asia as well as to develop, educate and nurture an appreciation for the art of coffee and promote Fair Trade coffee beans. As a sustainable alternative as well as it being a platform for coffee education, appreciation and a wealth of coffee drinking opportunities, the festival will also be in part a celebration of art in its many forms.

CAFFA aims to represents the most vigorous, fresh and contemporary new work made by our artists every year to a large and committed audience through artist demonstrations, art exhibitions, local craft artisans as well as promoting food connoisseurs to the event. Crucial to the CAFFA vision is an understanding of independent artists and the independent arts community as well as the coffee and food appreciation community, for it is together that will make the Coffee & Art Fringe Festival Asia.

Vendor info, so you won't need to get lost.

What grinds me the most was the parking within the vicinity, I never expect it to be full everywhere. It took me almost an hour - wandering around aimlessly, then I decided to give up and go home. Little did I know, there's a spot for me!
Even though its the first day of the event, many were already anticipated towards the event.

During the 3 days event, there will be many sponsors and individual vendors register, to serve you in the event.
Vendors promoting their products at best price for interested buyers, at limited time only.

As you are in the event, you get to taste all sorts of coffee for free! Be sure not to get yourself caffeinated!

Coffee isn't only all about taste and aroma, it is also an art. What happens when coffee and art unite as one?
They become priceless masterpiece, indeed.

Visitors gazed into the state-of-art of coffee brewing.

Steampunk!

Well, that is all only from the day-1 event. Lot's of great things to look and learn at! So, be there early!

Earlier this year (January), there were top 16 finalists
of Pro-Barista around Malaysia,
gather on one hosted event, to compete a spot for
themselves to the next level which is participating in
WBC 2015, represent Malaysia
@
Seattle, WA
Washington State
Convention Centre
[April 9 to 12th, 2015]

_
So, I went there on Saturday morning where the top
16 finalists is competing @ Chin Woo Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.
It was not flood with spectators which is nice.

This is the stadium for the top 16 to show off their skills. (Front Entrance)

In case anybody have not taken their breakfast, there's always food trucks service standby to feed your hunger.
Quick breakkie for spectators and for the competitors!
As I entered the building, first thing first that I saw is the Top 16 Finalists Board.

A board showing their quick profile and which cafe they are working for.
In the stadium not only fill with just stages and juries, but also some booth set up by the companies to promote their product for those who are interested !

DaVinci and their famous syrup on show.

DaVinci's products.
DaVinci's competitor, which is Monin serving the similar product to the consumers.

Monin always in action where ever I went for exhibition / convention or tournament events !
Walked around and I came across to this beastly coffee bean grinder.
Fiorenzato F64 Evo? If Im not mistaken =.= !

Then, if you are looking for premium type of coffee machine that produce premium taste, high-end machine, Coffex coffee introduce you to this machine. However, I forgotten what is it call.
Staff and volunteer(s), taking good care of every booth that has been assigned :)
To introduce new people into coffee world or to make friends with coffee enthusiast.

Things get more serious when speaking of Barista Competition !
Barista(s) required to prepare each coffee categories:
 -Espresso shots
-Cappuccino
-Espresso Based, Signature Drinks.

So, there will be, Sensory judges and technical judges around to inspect the competitors during the event.

MC Shaun Liew questionned about the competitor's condition and well-being.

Best thing is that there's a huge projector ! Easy to spectate !
 Nearer point of view....

Spectators~
Every move watched by spectators.
 Not to mention that....

There's always crew(s) behind all these amazing event.
To summarize things in a nut shell, this year MBC 2015 champion is
Jason Loo from the Red Beanbag!

The final results from the judges are here below:

What should you do if you are after facing a tight-line schedule? Grab a stick of cigarette?
No. -"Cigarette(s) be like, "SHHHUUSSHH, you are leaving this world soon..." "

So, why not redeem yourself with a cup of coffee.

Anyway,

I went to try out coffees in Taman Tun Doctor Ismail (TTDI) - Artisan Roast Coffee,
which was placed near 1 Utama and is closer to the Penchala Link.
This cafe was placed in a strategic location whereby it is surrounded by variety of shop lots that are able to attract customers into the cafe.

Artisan's target market most likely ranging from Teens to Senior Executive, Locals to Foreigners.

Not to mention that, getting yourself a car park doesn't seems to be in your favor during day time (which is the peak hour(s) for every shops there), unless you are planning to drink coffee at night~

Artisan Roast Coffee -front view!

Remember I mentioned about getting yourself a PROPER car-park in peak hour(s) is flustering? Try double-park in front of the shop...

Below will be picture of WHAT's inside the Artisan Cafe.

With one step forward, first thing that caught everyone's sight is the pastries in the chiller.

Order HERE!

Don't Worry, Drink Coffee

The types of blend use to brew the beverages.

I love the coffee chart.

Various roasted beans display on the shelves for the customer to spot-on.
Artisan Roast Coffee did handbrew their coffee beans!
Red Espresso
Wowga
Bakasso
Gachami
Kangocho
Montecillo

They use Mirage Triplette at Artisan TTDI to extract the espresso. The machine operates with semi-automatic functions.

Apparently, the staff will serve right on your table right now !

The atmosphere inside the cafe is relaxing with huge art work on the wall, with small tables placed around the space.
However, I prefer the outside environment of the cafe whereby you can sit down, relax and enjoy your  coffee with the presence of natural light !

Red Latte - RM 10.00 ; I love it because it gives out the tea aroma although the beverage has been mix with steamed milk!

Cheesecake - RM 10.00 ; I love the cream cheese texturing, the chocolate layer and the cheese cake.

Spinach mushroom quiche - RM 7.90 ; how i wish they serve quiche lorraine !

Caffe Latte! RM10.00

This makes the threee of it ! From the left, Caffe Latte, Red Latte, and cheese cake.

Last but not least, the Americano RM 6.00 ; i could feel a glimpse of spicyness (taste) in the coffee. Or maybe not.
That's about it ! I did enjoy have coffee(s) there, especially the Red Latte, the aroma did stained in my taste bud for eternity and it was really recommended to chill with buddies over there!
The environment is crazy and the location is phenomenal when you can simply just leave the cafe for the nearest shopping mall which is OneUtama.

Oh by the way, Artisan Roast Coffee in TTDI is hiring ! If you are interested, do call them at your will.
