I have been busy lately and did not manage to update my blog like my usual old days.
As the new start of 2017, I would like to blog about my experienced in Dessert Bar by Stanley Choong.

Before you read any further, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize if my blog seems dead for the past few months as well as the picture in this post aren't beautiful enough to make you drool.
So... as I was looking for the dessert bar, I look out for the pink neon light bunny, which said that it has a charm to lure customers into the shop. The color seems kinky to me, nevertheless attractive.

Coconut Lime
I lay my dessert fork on this beautiful attractive "Coconut Lime" tart as it has lots of components that uphold this attractive tart. The components are lemon curd, coconut panna cotta, and almond dacqouise. It compliment so well that I feel the need to eat them completely as a whole, instead of bit by bit.

Yuzu
P/s: Yuzu at the bottom appears handicapped in this picture.
Yuzu cake is really interesting here as it blends with multiple layer of different ingredients such as yuzu cremeux, caramelized hazelnuts, flaked almonds and rich moussey Belgium chocolate.

Choux with Chocolate dusting on top.
Unfortunately, I din't enjoy this one. The choux puff seemed like it has been born and abandoned inside the chiller for one week or so because the texture of the choux puff is hard and dry than the usual choux puff that makes it difficult to chew. The creme inside the choux puff also seems like it has been dried out too.

Cappuccino
Of course, you will need coffee to accompany the dish on top of the table.
Coffee here is great, it is slight light to medium-bodied, *in my opinion*, perfect when pair with the dessert that you indulge.

In short, the price for each item is reasonable (range RM 6 to RM 18) for patisseries. You may opt for "Harney & Son's" tea or carbonated drinks if you dislike coffee. Warm service by the cashier. Environment is clean and comfortable.

Just like everyone else, I love waffles too. Recently, I brought my mom over to Soft Launch Cafe & Desserts as it seems trending among the netizen. It was reported that Soft Launch Cafe & Desserts known for their waffles.

Let's see and taste on their specialty, shall we?

Cappuccino @ RM 10.00
Medium bodied cup of cappuccino to start up your day. Its been so long to be able to witness the latte art manage to stay on for quite sometime, again.

Aglio Olio @ RM 16.00
Oh? This is the bomb. I love their Aglio Olio. Not too oily, al-dente pasta that is well-seasoned. A noticeable kick of heat. Overall, I would personally recommend this dish.

Fried Chicken Waffle @ RM 22.00
Savory and sweet? Protein and carbs? Allow me to present you this Fried Chicken Waffle that suits your hungry belly well. The chicken slices was well battered and fried, which gives off crispiness upon biting and juicy succulent meat that just wander around inside your mouth.

Strawberry Waffle @ RM 19.00
There's nothing wrong for a waffle sandwiched with strawberries and fresh whipped cream. It is still tasty but my only wish is that they could add a dollop of ice cream within it or at the side of it - base on their selling price. I think it would be fantastic. IDK, just my opinion.

Verdict
The coffee and the rest of the food items were fine. However, in my personal opinion, the waffle barely has its crispiness outside as I love my waffle to be firm (still can bite it apart, of course) and crispy on the outside.

Anyhow, Fried Chicken Waffle and Agio Olio is recommended to try!

Hey coffee shops, its been awhile since I hop like a mad bunny, to get my caffeine fix. It is Wednesday 22nd of June today, a weekday whereby I'm suppose to be in university but has turned out to be a public holiday for all the local citizen of Malaysia, coincidentally, I was in Sri Petaling, a place flooded with the rapid growth of coffee shops. That's where I found Neighbourhood Coffee by accident.

Neighbourhood coffee just open recently (months ago), captivated me at first sight with its simplicity, clean and minimalist interior. I love it when they have large window panels to give out natural lighting for crazy 21st-century Instagramers !

1# Quick info:

They serve All-Day Brunch (until 5pm), variety of Panini(s), Churros (highlight items), cakes & pastries, last but not least, coffee and tea.

2# Quick info:

Are you a coffee connoisseur, then this is the place for you to chill, sit back and enjoy your cuppa Joe~ as they rotate their beans periodically so that coffee fanatic like you, get to taste different bean profile.

1) Smores Mini Tart @ RM 3.50

A tart with charred marshmallow on top filled with chili chocolate fillings. Looks cute, mini and appetizing from the outside, unfortunately, the taste was mediocre. Also, it is quite hard to split it apart, literally need two forks or a hand to split em.

2) Mary's Berries @ RM 17.00

Icing sugar dusted churros with strawberries slices, blueberries, dark chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream sprinkled with cereal flakes. It has semi-crisp (outer layer) upon slicing through the churro but quite doughy in-texture. If you love this kind of churro texture, this place is for you. If you prefer it to be crispy inside-out, this place probably not for you. Overall, not bad for a quick bite.

3) Cappuccino @ RM 11.00

It is a medium roast coffee blend of 50% Brazil (natural) and 50% Mexican (wet) that gives a balance cup full bodied, hint of chocolate and nutty flavors.

I don't mind coming back here again to try their other churros menu~

I passed by quite number of time and seen this cafe before but never try it. Never knew it was that good till my friends recommended me to give it a try.

A Japanese concept cafe that serves Japanese foods and coffee!
Business nowadays pretty flexible, isn't?

A place for smokers to smoke right after they are done with their coffee :)

Slide the door to the right side and this is the first glance of the inside!

Simple comfortable dimmed interior and the air conditioning pretty monstrous.

If you would like to try hand brew coffee, it is also available in the menu! Just ask the staff about it!

Honestly, that day was kinda busy for me because I have to finish off few Economics homework given by my lecturer, it took me 5 hours to complete everything because my knowledge is too shallow.
Thank god, crowd voice did not stun my head.

That day, I ordered One flat white and One Cappuccino alongside with this One Snicker Cheesecake!

Coffee wise, it has very light-bodied and bright acidity which you can taste tea like finishing to it. I would recommend it to those who is first time a coffee drinker. Remember I mentioned that the air conditioning is pretty monstrous? The latte art manage to hold still perfectly for even 15 minutes! Amazing!

As for the Snicker Cheesecake, I lost for words because it extremely delicate! The texture of the cheesecake was perfect and the taste of the peanut, caramel is at top notch !
.
20 minutes later, my mouth wishing for more bites, I ordered the Fried Pasta seasoned with herbs! Quite crunchy for quick bite.

One of my iPhone photography ! I did not expect to achieve this kind of result which is very satisfying to me. I wish I could constantly produce more of this pictures for my Instagram feed!
Follow me on my Instagram!

:Verdict:
Perfect place for new coffee drinkers because of the beans that they use are quite light bodied, good place to chill but the air conditioning may give you a frost bite. If you are hungry, they serve food as well rather than just cakes only.

What's up ladies & gentlemen, welcome again to another new post of Honeydew Point!
Today, I would like to blog about Minamotonoya Cafe which located in Bandar Baru Sri Petaling,
Minamotonoya Cafe is a cafe which have Japanese-mixed-with-a-little-western sort of concept.

Entrance into the cafe.

Alternative entrance into the cafe
The cafe's dimension & capacity is sufficient to cater maximum of 20-30 pax ONLY simultaneously ; in estimation. So, those of you
who are interested will need to wait patiently for seats.

Staff busy as it is their peak hours right now.

A copy from a Chinese magazine featuring Minamotonoya Cafe ; that sense of achievement that they got & are proud of.
Can be seen on their counter.

Chiller for the cakes. Don't worry, scroll down for more details.

Please have a seat, and the staff will hand out their menu!

Well, its okay to have a simple menu, however this menu booklet is not presentable though.
It's better to have their menu reformat into simple & presentable version, with sufficient descriptions on each menu items.

Here are the items that I have ordered.
Cappuccino ; using Musetti Coffee beans. 100 % arabica blend, sweet, aromatic & pleasant acidity.

Teriyaki Don, one of my favorite meal over there.

Japanese Curry Chicken Rice ; sadly, the curry is mild in taste although there's aroma from it. It can be better...

Japanese Style Popcorn Chicken Salad ; If you are looking for healthy meal, this is it. Salad with dressing on top and cherish with fried chicken bits.

Tofu Cheese Cake

Wafu Mocha Cake ; wish the green tea taste in the sponge can be more stronger like the one in RT Pastry!

Water Mochi ; Every one come here for this dessert. It's basically water plus gelatin? Then added on with sweet syrup and fine-grind peanut powder. The water mochi place on a plate that has arts on it which generate a special appearance.

To be honest, the cakes' portion is quite small. Two bites will finish each of the cake.

:Summary:

If you are planning to visit this cafe one day, my best advice to you is to visit them early as their cafe have pretty good high turnover! The food are quite decent to me and most of the people would go for their well-known sandwiches and water mochi. Coffee wise, it is ordinary to me as well.
