Superfine.kl is inside the Seventeen Mall at Section 17 Petaling Jaya, easy reach for the surrounding neighbours to grab a quick cuppa joe or even a healthy brunch. Also consider one of the top eatery among the rest within the area itself - the waiting list at the entrance speaks for itself!

Broad dining space and the natural bright light from the floor-to-ceiling window makes the interior feels inviting and comfortable as a place to enjoy food and conversation over coffee. Easy to oversee how barista brew the coffee or to see what's available on the cake station.

Lamb Tacos al Pastor (RM 21.80) - Slow roasted New Zealand lamb shoulder, topped with harissa mayo, grilled pineapple, pickled onions, salsa roja and fresh coriander wrapped tortilla. Perfect choice especially for ladies that trying to stay away from carbs. Love the combo of every ingredient on this tortilla. Savoury, juicy, bright. Simply healthy and delicious!

Eggs Benny (RM 26.80) - Homemade polenta, sous-vide thick-cut streaky bacon, poached kampung eggs, brown utter hollandaise, french beans sautéed in miso-garlic butter. The polenta loaf is tasty but slightly salty as you continue to eat over time. I think might need another extra eggs to melt on to the salty polenta. Otherwise, it will be a good balance breakfast meal.
On a side note, vegetarian option also made available: mushroom medley (white button mushroom, brown shimeji & osyter mushroom).

Kraftkorn cake (RM 16.00) - Flour, Rye Flour, mixed seeds and mix flour. One word, delicious.

Superfine also has the upper advantage as they have wide selection of beverage ranging from coffee to tea, kombucha to craft beers. Coffee starts from RM 9.00 (espresso shot) up to RM 18.00 (for filter coffee). Premium and classic chinese tea at the price of RM 11.00 per cup. Ale craft beers price starts from RM 20.00 per pint.

Personal Summary: Bright and broad environment, suitable for large group and big family. Superfine serves healthy breakfast and lunch, as well as wide variety of beverages - up to craft beer! Friendly and attentive service crew.

If you've heard or visited the reputable cafe named The Mechanic in Cheras C180, then you are definitely in the loop of their new expansion. This Core by The Mechanic is a new cafe expansion by the parent cafe, serving more or less similar products, in lite version - due to the size of the shop is small.

Visited the Core during their soft launch at 2 PM, quite upset that the hot food were completely sold out. What's left is the pastries and beverages. Most patrons at that point of time were just enjoying pastries or chilling with drinks. Interior of the cafe won many heart, hence, this place considered as a place to chill, for now.

Tried one of the pastry, Natsui, very interesting components that they got there. Sesame mousse accompanied with salted caramel spread and bits, topped with cream and dark chocolate piece. One of the best taste and flavour dessert at the moment. Everything just mingle well together.

Coffee wise, quite standard, bold and balance. A cup of coffee that can easily enjoy by everyone.

To get here, be early as you can, preferably in the morning so that parking is not an issue. Don't miss out the patisserie. For food review, can't comment at the moment.

Norm Micro Roastery is another new project by Norm Penang, where this space will be for specialty-coffee-centric, serving all-day brunch, cakes and desserts and sometimes seasonal menu item by the counter.
Loving the space inside as it has raw cement finishing coupled with green pots and gravels. Minimalist, spacious and has high ceiling as well as abundant of natural lighting from the ceiling panels. Seats are quite unique on its own, custom built arrangement with designated shape.

Had this Prawn & Pumpkin Risotto (RM 32) that was Moroccan spiced prawn with pumpkin risotto, clams, shimeji, crispy sage and parmesan cheese. Overall, taste was absolutely fantastic - risotto was cooked to al-dente, packed with flavors from the pumpkin and mixed spices, and generous amount of clams. Prawns was big and fresh too!

If you can't take heavy food for your breakfast, try the Eggs Your Way (RM 13) comes with choice of poached eggs, scrambled eggs or fried eggs on toast. Had mine with scrambled eggs, perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper, well drizzled with olive oil and topped with coriander. Sourdough is great in my own opinion as it isn't chewy or hard to bite.

Dessert wise, I was fortunate to have a try on their off-menu dessert, Vanilla Creme Brulee. Straight-up creamy custard with a layer of caramelized sugar vanilla pod essence, very soft yet not compromising the flavor of vanilla - yummy! Also, you will not feel satiated from eating it as it is soft in texture and flavor. So, there's plenty more room for your tummy!

Up next is the Lemon Custart Tart. A palate cleansing dessert with great acidity from the lemon. Ruiny custard, firm tart. Well, what more can I say.

As for beverages, there are selections of drinks - ranging from coffee, tea to mock-tails to choose from. Iced Matcha Latte (RM 15) was rich in matcha flavor and has the right proportion of fresh milk and matcha mixture. Also has my White - Regular serving for RM 11.00, with coffee beans roasted by themselves.

Brewing coffee is like orchestra.

Minimalism.

Just look out for this entrance.
My personal summary: Great place for photographer. Car park can be challenging during peak hours, hence, park at your own risk - so be there early to avoid disappointment. Good food and drinks.

Cafe businesses have been popping out like nobody's business, here, Tapestry is one of the latest cafe that have just operated two months ago. The cafe is located opposite of Stripes Hotel Kuala Lumpur and the very well known hainan chicken chop, Yut Kee Restaurant. Based on my experience, if you were to drive there, do pray beforehand for available parking and no crowd.

Anyway, I love the overall interior look of the cafe, it really paired well with the heritage location in downtown KL. Rustic interior blessed with small group of greenery to have a contrast color and mood.

Meet this Rise & Shine Egg Benedict (RM 28). Poached eggs, beetroot-cured salmon, bubble and squeak and dressed with bunga kantan hollandaise. Yeap, really tasty - poached eggs were poached beautifully and it matches well with the deep fried beetroot-cured salmon and the dressing.

This Salt Beef Burger (RM 32), a lightly toasted bun sandwiched with salt beef with sriracha aioli then served with fries and funnel salad: will be a nightmare for all burger fans out there. Those who tried this before will get what I mean. It's pathetic and dry inside, which you have no idea what you are eating. Better visit MBL for better ones.

Shakshouka (RM 32) has meatballs and free-range eggs in the cast-iron pan, served with toasted focaccia at the side. Quite filling for a small tummy. Be sure to have big appetite.

If your lady is in a diet plan, good thing that Tapestry also have diet bowl in their menu. Horchata Smoothie (RM 22) that has bananas, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, chia seed, toasted Hawaiian coconut, healthy granola, pomegranate and gula melaka. A bowl that is suitable for vegan.

Looking for a thirst-quenching beverage? This glass of Tropical (RM 12) has passion fruit, pineapple and green apple all mixed up together in a form of smoothie. Icy cold and relieving from extreme weather.

Coffee in Tapestry is awful to be honest. This cappuccino (RM 13), in my honest opinion, was unpleasantly bitter and the coffee to milk ratio was too imbalance. I think they should re-calibrate their shot's output.

Fancy, will I be back in the future? That depends.

Just another day of visit to a newly opened cafe called Page 2, project by Cafe In A Box. A team of baristas that started out as a weekend barista who are always enthusiast in the coffee scene. One of the in-charge person of this cafe was crowned champion in Malaysia Brewers' Cup 2015, Malaysia Siphonist Championship 2016 and had 1st Runner Up of World Siphonist Championship 2016.

Unfortunately on the day of my visit, the siphonist expert wasn't on duty.
So, I was attended by a friendly barista named Edward (and not to forget the other Page 2 team members).
The art of pour-over coffee, extracting the goods from the beans itself.
Here, I'm trying the pour-over coffee that is based on El Salvador Finca El Carmen, washed process, a red bourbon that portray the prominent notes of lemon, apple crisp and cinnamon. Needless to say, it was reasonably bright and had several hint of floral aromas. Overall, this bean charmed me endlessly.
What to expect here?
Expect good coffee (siphon/pour-over) from them.
Food wise, I couldn't give any recommendations as I have not taste them yet.

I usually don't visit cafe nearby my house due to personal presumption of "things that are generally nearby your house isn't really good" - which is a wrong mindset to have, until one fateful day that I have decided to pay Brew & Bread a good visit.
Brew & Bread has been operating more than 6 years ago and still counting...
Today, they are one of the best cafe in Klang Valley that could serve good brunch as well as specialty coffee to the market.

Prior to the visit, I learnt that Brew & Bread was offering their very new single origin (La Campanula - Apaneca Ilamatepec in El Salvador), a bourbon and SL 28 varietals that underwent fully washed and sun-dried process which resulted in vanilla, red apple and almond tea as the tasting experience that you can obtain from this bean. So then I decided to give it a try. It was a clean cup of coffee I would say, light-bodied and citrusy like red apple and gives out a tea-like finishing at the end of your sip.

Little did I know, I was caffeinated by the coffee because of my empty stomach. Thus, to order their food to recover from caffeine sickness as well as to try their food :P
Meet my very own appealing and seductive Chicken Roulade (RM 19.00). Initially I thought it came in a big portion, unfortunately it is not big in my own point of view. I'm a big eater and I am disappointed with this. However, taste wise was pretty good when your chicken thigh rolled with amazing stuffing, coated with white sesame, brown sauce, pumpkin mash and drizzle of olive oil infused with basil and parsley dip.

After my unsatisfying-small-portion-but-taste-good Chicken Roulade, I called for a plate of Prawn Aglio Olio (RM 15.00) to fill the gap in my tummy. One of Brew n Bread's signature dish, as highlighted on their menu. Great plate of pasta in my opinion as their pasta cooked to perfection of al-dente and blends well with the other ingredients such as fresh prawns, hams, sugar peas, wild mushrooms and not to miss out the seasonings.
