Check out this hidden Korean BBQ restaurant in Ampang town, located at Jalan Sulaiman. This low-key, secret Korean BBQ restaurant does not have any business signboard or obvious prop to indicate that they are a Korean restaurant. The only way to locate them from road is to carefully look for the red-white stripes wall, "takeaway" on a small white board or perhaps you might also see some customers queuing outside the shop. BTW, Waze don't pinpoint the exact location somehow!

Take a good look.

Besides known for their discreet & shady appearance to the public, many commented the "uncle" for bad manners, poor hospitality and rude to certain customers. Based on my experience, there was a couple queuing ahead of me, were asked to wait - while I managed to negotiate with the Uncle to have my seat without queuing. Since then, the couple stopped queuing and left. Also, some reported that you can only place your order once. Check the Google Review to learn more.

Typical Korean partition.
Fragile wood partition with wallpapers and hangul writing.

Outer appearance may perceive the entire dining area dirty but they are actually clean, but just beware and smart about it. So far, so good. Typical Korean vibe.

Kimchi Soup (RM 16.00)
Kimchi soup quite big size, comes with side kimchi, a few bits of fried ham and a bowl of rice. For the price, the portion is very reasonable that you can share for two person. Taste wise, I can't speak on behalf of everyone but I liked it. Not so heavy red, balance of kimchi sourness and heat, a perfect match when you enjoy it during rainy season.
Kimchi Soup with good amount of pork meat and onions.

Cold Noodle (RM 15.00)
Quite big portion, lots of ice and a half hard boil egg. Easy to chew the noodles, not too overpowering mustard, well seasoned of vinegar.

Gyoza (RM 10.00)
Affordable plate of gyoza! Comes with 10 pieces of gyoza, served with chili sauce at the side. The outer layer taste very different, quite thick and aromatic. It has minced meat filling inside but hopefully the amount of filling can be even more (most likely not, lol).

Summary
One of the most affordable Korean meal in KL area, a hidden gem, secret low-key restaurant with K-drama vibes. The uncle's attitude will depends on your fate. Cash ONLY !

A recent, #throwback experience in  Sojubang 소주방 @ Sunway Mentari.

As the dusk strikes in, a friendly-tainted space where you can spend some quality time with your friends right after work or dinner.

This Sojubang 소주방 has been running their business for years and still counting,
and not to mention that there's change of ownership too during their business lifetime which
guests might encounter several changes in the shop.

Sojubang located one floor above Fat One Steamboat!
Just in case if you don't want to drink with your empty stomach, Fat One Steamboat is there for you.

As you walk up to the shop, the typical korean shop room design. However, all of these props are no longer there. They had removed it and painted the walls in black.

The latest update of their door-way after recent renovation which made me stun for a moment.

The interior of the Sojubang, with multiple designed cushion walls on the walls that overrode the previous scribbled walls that filled with memories.

After the renovation, I have to admit that the space has became a lot bigger than the previous one.
Means, more seats for more people.

Here are the menu, so you can decide first before heading to Sojubang.

From the menu above, you might find that several items' price totally absurd, in short, better not to call for it as you can get lower price in some other place. The only items that are best to order in Sojubang are Tteobeokki and the Drink Set!

Soju!

Korean rice wine!

On the other hand, dude in black shirt celebrate his birthday! Good luck with your bracelet business!

:Summary:
Good hangout spot with friends or family, a place where you can drink and eat in a dim-cosy-environment. However, price of several menu items need to be lower because the current price is totally absurd! If you are planning to go there, please be careful as the level of safeness over there during late night is pretty bad.

Don't drunk & drive. It's bad.

Just another ordinary weekend trying out something different this time.
Went to a Korean cafe called Cafe Korea located at Sri Petaling.
Parking difficulty ain't difficult although it's on weekend, so yeah!
A cafe that caters all age, so it doesn't really matters and the price are reasonable as well.

Front view of the cafe.

Cafe Korea with their new announcement and promotional board.

Pictures of recommended items.

Offer! On selected items only.
Here are the interior of the cafe~ cheers.

Love it when customer or whoever it is, place Polaroid pictures at the wall for memories.

Close-up to the bar counter.

Varieties of Bingsu (Shaved Ice cream)

Cakes and drinks offered.

If you preferred to sit with your leg fold, not a problem.

When it comes to food...

Spicy Ramen! The taste ain't amplify enough for my taste bud.

Chicken Bulgogi Rice, it is big and delicious ! The best among all.

The bottom dish is called Traditional Jajangmyeon, noodles soaked in savoury black soybean sauce. Unfortunately, not my type of dish. *Personal preference, I guess?*

Cheesy sticks(filled with mozzarella cheese) Not bad but those who are health conscious should reconsider because it's very oily.

This is also one of my favourite side dish! Korean? Hot Pancakes? I cannot recall what is the name of this, but its sweet enough to blow your mind.

Oreo Bingsu. Despite this bingsu is well known among the customers, well, very disappointed with the bingsu because it melt too fast right after it served on my table. Taste wise was normal.
Overall, I only love the Chicken Bulgogi and the korean hot pancakes, they are the best among all menu item that they have. Staff service was nice especially the owner but item production timing wise, is a little disappointing~ took longer than average.
Hopefully, the owner could detect faulty within their cafe.
If I would to re-visit, most probably after 6 months to see improvements and what's new in their cafe .

As a Malaysian , I've noticed that there are many great point of interests pinned all over the map of Malaysia.
So today i chose "this" point of interest , named "Little Korea" or also known as "Korea Town"-located in
Ampang Avenue, Jalan Ampang Utama 2/2 (Kuala Lumpur), Malaysia to share with readers !

To simplify the review of this place, basically Koreans migrate to Malaysia (@1960) due to great investment of real estate, perfect geographical location to make a living , personal story and etc. Since then, many of them would run their business to earn income because they believe that Malaysia is one of the countries which able to bring them great financial opportunities! In a blink of an eye (@2005-2013) , this place slowly gained tourist's attraction and lead to the success of the business & tourism industry! That is why you can see many Koreans  living in this country today.

Below are pictures aided with description .

( Front view of Little Korea ! )

 ( Korea's convenience store along the road ! )

 ( ^^ )

( One of the largest convenience stores ! , what more do you want? )

( Cans and boxes of Korean ingredients~ )

( Bottle of Soju :) )

( Kids will love these fancy snacks ! )

( Promotional sales of Kim Chi )

 ( Beverages )

( K-pop fans will love this... )
.

After that, I went and tried this Korean Restaurant called Mu Jin Jang ,
The owner of this restaurant deserved a medal because he really
cared about his customers !
( Front view )

( Korean side dishes, appetizers - usually help to increase our appetite before our main course arrive )

( Tteokbokki A.K.A ddeokbokki ( Spicy Sliced rice cake) , one of the best korean dish ! )
[Thanks to my Korean friend who introduced this dish to me, "DDAEBAK" !]
( Sorry, the taste of the Tteokbokki are indescribable, "a-ju ma-si-sseo-sseo-yo~!!"- meaning " it was delicious"! )

( Bibimbap [Mixed rice] , one of the famous dishes in Korea due to its variations ! Always remember to mix well before enjoying it )

( Ojin-eodipbak [Squid-rice !] Spicy squid, recommended to mix well )

It was a great day for me to accumulate every information from that place, hope to visit there again :)

Author's note: After done reading above, you might be asking for information such as price , recommendations , precautions, & etc. - I'm sorry to inform you that I can't provide such detailed information at this time ,as you know "Little Korea" area is organized by Korean people meaning prices are estimated to be expensive if you visit in a group. Tons of Korean Restaurants to choose from, depends on your own preference but be sure that the owner and the workers are Korean for guaranteed satisfying taste. Generally speaking, everything there is recommended. Another word of advice is, sharpen your proficiency in the Korean Language so that you can communicate with the Korean community.

Address/ map: Ampang Avenue, Jalan Ampang Utama 2/2 ( Address provided with Google Maps)

Thank you , bubbye !
